On Thursday, April 30th, 2020, The Enchanted Rose Floral Company became certified as a Women’s Business Enterprise (WBE) through the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC), the nation’s largest third party certifier of businesses owned and operated by women in the US. We are honored that The Enchanted Rose Floral Company is joining a vast cohort of other like-minded women entrepreneurs, and expanding our network of people who we call our colleagues.

What is the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC) and why does it matter? They tell it best stating they are, “…the largest certifier of women-owned businesses in the U.S. and a leading advocate for women business owners and entrepreneurs.” In addition to certification they provide opportunities, resources, and peer engagement to entrepreneurs, offering each one the best chance for potential success in business. The WBENC’s dedication to enriching women entrepreneurs has been proven during these trying economic times caused in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. Through social distancing, quarantine, and lockdowns, they keep certifying women owned businesses and continue to provide them with resources and tools they need. Learn more about the WBENC, who they are, and what they do here.

Now as a part of this wide-reaching network, The Enchanted Rose Floral Co can further our mission to empowering women around the world through meaningful work. We are excited at the sheer potential that has been given to us, and we are humbled by that responsibility. The first and most obvious of those responsibilities is to stay true to our mission and expand our reach, and we plan to do that by partnering with and supporting more women owned businesses, learning how to be better stewards of this cause in business, and to continue to provide the level of quality and customer service all our clients have come to expect. The other responsibility we now carry is to educate others, and that starts with giving thanks where due. The Enchanted Rose Floral Company has not made it to where it is today on its own. There has been a multitude of people, programs, and businesses that have supported us from before inception to now. To honor those people and organizations we want to acknowledge them now. While we would love to name every person who has helped us along the way that would take too long, so for now we offer everyone our heartfelt thanks and sentiments of gratitude, and we will only acknowledge our greatest influencers.

First, we want to thank Charlie Five for giving us our first business contract and taking a chance on a small and unknown startup offering a relatively unknown product. Charlie Five is a veteran owned non-profit that aids veterans through equine training and placement.      Second, we want to thank the Institute for Veterans and Military Families (IVMF) Syracuse University for all of their aid and continued support. We would not be a business today if it had not been for the team members, sponsors, and volunteers who make IVMF possible. Get involved with them and their many programs here.

Next, we want to thank Texas A&M Mays Business School and all their volunteers who work in tandem with IVMF. The tireless efforts of TAMU’s volunteers provided us with the entrepreneurial foundation for us to stand on.      Following them, we want to thank BEU for giving us a tribe, a place to belong and a group of like-minded women who inspire those around them. See how BEU can help improve yourself, your company, and your ideas here.

Finally, we want to thank the volunteers of the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council for their tireless efforts to help the WBENC continue certifying businesses during the COVID-19 pandemic. Without them, we would not be certified today.

It is our greatest hope that you will join us in celebrating this milestone in our company’s growth and honor all the sacrifices made by those who helped us make it here today.
